University of Auckland PeopleSoft HR & Payroll Project

Project brief

In August 2007, the University of Auckland undertook a significant programme of work upgrading its PeopleSoft HR and Payroll modules to the latest version (version 9).  The University of Auckland took this opportunity to undertake an extensive review and redesign of HR processes in order to improve HR service delivery.  Destin was engaged as the University’s implementation partner, with Dennise Fox leading the programme of work and 16 Destin Consultants filling key project roles.

The HR programme included six major undertakings for the university, which included:

  • Reimplementation of PeopleSoft for HR and Payroll, including significant process redesign.
  • Development and implementation of a new service delivery model for the HR service division
  • Review of the framework for HR delegations
  • Improvements to the processes for the appointment of fixed term, casual and contract staff
  • Data audit and integrity of HR data
  • Development of a University wide organisation structure and associated processes and tools.

The implementation was successfully completed, with all projects within the programme delivered, in November 2008.
